Theme: The inventive glint

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abu Bakar Shekhani

Abu Bakar Shekhani is a creative person who is not only a computer scientist and software engineer by profession but also was the youngest General Secretary of Pakistan Bonsai Society of his time (which is the only bonsai club of Pakistan). He is an amateur astronomer. He is the founder of first University level Astronomy club at SZABIST in 2008. He is also the co-founder and General Secretary of Karachi Astronomers Society.He also co-founded 'My Tabeeb'(technology health care solution of pakistan). He will let his audience know how his passion and interest for Bonsai has helped him to be creative in his profession and what were the reasons that helped him to develop an application that benefits medical sciences and how to make your hobby into a profitable business.

A proficient writer, an enthusiastic motivational speaker and an exceedingly passionate person who believes in struggling hard for a better tomorrow. The youngest Pakistani to make an international debut in short story writing and poetry in fiction genre. Her book is distributed in over 12 countries. In recognition of her writing skills, given the title of Youth High Achiever. Her book has also been selected for the award-winning books of year 2015 by the Pakistan Academy of letters. She has also been nominated for the Outstanding Arts performance award by Youth High achievers. With her article “Making noise” at UNICEF, she believes words with required rhetoric can trigger this nation towards eternal glory. The Purpose of volunteering for a talk at IST is to break the shackles of monotonous routines and to ignite the spark amongst the Youth. They need it and most importantly Pakistan needs it.

Haroon Yasin

Haroon is the chairman at Orenda, an organization formed to rethink the way education is delivered, especially to young children, in Pakistan. He created a slum school and taught there for two years. His current organization is focused on making education ‘addictive’ for young children, who are either at the risk of dropping out, or have never enrolled to begin with.

A man that plays with fancy words and compose them together to make songs, and on the other hand with the equipment in the automotive design and safety laboratory at IST. Mr Omer has done his PhD (automotive engineering) from university of Modena and MS (robotics) from university of Genovia. He is asongwriter at sarkash.

wajahat malik

Avid climber, para-glider, writer and a political activist

Wajahat Malik is the managing director at Eyebex Films and chairman at PIMFF Pakistan International Mountain Film Festival. He is a documentary filmmaker and a popular television host for TV travelogues. He has produced, directed and presented numerous adventure and travel documentaries that have been aired on all local and some foreign television channels. He is also an avid climber, paraglider, writer and a political activist.
