The Durham Quartet
The Durham Quartet, founded in 2015, is comprised of four of the most sought-after string players in Durham’s music scene. Members include 1st violinist Hayley Lam (Leader of DUOS Chamber Orchestra), 2nd violinist Sergei Batishchev (Leader of DUOS Symphony Orchestra), violist Amy Green (President of DUOS) and cellist Jessica Bryden (section leader in DUOS Chamber Orchestra).
Cheryl Lancaster
Cheryl Lancaster is in the unusual position of holding doctorates in both cell biology and history of science. Her most recent research project, “A History of Embryonic Stem Cell Research”, looks at how more than 200 years of science, politics, economics, and society have shaped our understanding of the embryo and stem cell research. She also works on ethics and fraud in biomedical science, and was the first to publish a comprehensive overview of the fraud accusations against the Japanese researcher Haruko Obokata. Cheryl is currently the Director of the Masters in History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine at Durham University.
Eve Poole
Eve Poole teaches leadership and has written several books. Her latest book, Leadersmithing, is published by Bloomsbury in March 2017. She has a BA from Durham, an MBA from Edinburgh, and a PhD from Cambridge. She is the Chairman of Gordonstoun School.
James Gudgeon
James Gudgeon is a strategist and consumer psychologist looking at how design influences decisions. He has a BSc and MSc from Prifysgol Bangor in Psychology and Consumer Psychology, and experience studying in Korea, The Netherlands and Durham University.
Jillian Haslam
Jillian Haslam is a renowned Motivational Speaker. Her book, Indian. English., won Jillian many admirers across the continents and much media attention. Her story was turned into a screenplay that won the “Best screenplay award” at the Monaco Film Festival and has since been picked up by Hollywood and is scheduled to be turned into a film.
John Linarelli
