In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Bill Truitt

Bill Truitt, an associate professor with the IU School of Medicine and Stark Neuroscience Institute, is a neuroscientist and principle investigator on NIH funded research into the neural circuitry of social and emotional processing.

Bob Sander

Bob Sander has been telling stories since 1985. Bob was the resident storyteller at the Indianapolis Museum of Art for 15 years. Annually, Bob performs as a teaching artist for thousands of children independently and as a roster artist for Arts for Learning. Bob is also a co-founder and previous director of Storytelling Arts of Indiana.

Laura Bates

Laura Bates is a professor of English at Indiana State University, where she has taught courses on Shakespeare for 20 years. For more than 25 years she has worked in prisons as a volunteer and as a professor. She created the world’s first Shakespeare program in supermax—the long-term solitary confinement unit.

Mitchell Adzema

Mitchell Adzema is a senior at Carmel High School. He will attend Indiana University in the fall to study secondary education. He likes piña coladas and getting caught in the rain. He is not much into yoga and has half a brain. He would like to thank everyone for coming to TEDxCHS and also his speaking partner, Roberto.

Parker Lawrence

Parker Lawrence is a sophomore at Carmel High School. He has had an interest in computer science for as long as he remember. He has been contacted by Google recruiters in the past, and in his free time enjoys programming and building mechanical devices. He would like to thank everyone for their support.

Roberto Alas

Roberto Alas is a senior at Carmel High School. He will attend the Kelley School of Business at IU in the fall to major in Finance with a minor in Music. In his free time, he enjoys exploring deep philosophical ideas. He would like to thank everyone who helped organize TEDxCHS as well as his speaking partner, Mitchell.

Sabra Logan

Sabra Logan is the Founder, and Artistic/Executive Director of Iibada Dancers, Inc. Central Indiana’s premier children’s African & Modern Dance Company founded in 1989. Sabra’s work has appeared in several publications and TV stations. Her dance career encompasses over thirty years of experience.
