Before joining Teach For Bulgaria in 2010, Evgenia Peeva-Kirova worked as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company, where she advised leading companies across industries ranging from technology and pharmaceuticals to industrial electronics to non-profits on core business issues related to strategy, growth and expansion, marketing, and sales. In 2010, Evgenia was approached by America for Bulgaria Foundation, which provided a generous start-up grant for the launch of Teach For Bulgaria and is still its major supporter, to return back to her country and take on the challenge to set up the organization.
Evgenia is co-founder and president of the non-profit Step for Bulgaria Foundation, which has delivered life-skills education and professional development training to underprivileged Bulgarian youth since 2007.
Maya Doneva
Maya Doneva is is a 31 year old Bulgarian professional in the field of social entrepreneurship and non-formal education. Maya is part of the pool of trainers of the European youth Forum - the biggest youth NGO in Europe and implements trainings in the field of youth participation and civic rights all over the world. Maya was part of the winning team of Varna's bid for European youth capital 2017 and co-developed the theme for social innovation and youth entrepreneurship, which helped the city to finally win the title after 4 years of efforts. Maya is the co-founder of a social start up- The Social Teahouse, which provides mentorship and first job for youngsters, who were raised in orphanages.
Maya works actively in the field of youth empowerment and gender equality and was part of the first FEMPOWER camp in Bulgaria for young female leaders organized by the Bulgarian Fund for Women.
