In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Antara Telang

Antara Telang is a 25 year-old Content Director at an e-learning startup called LaughGuru, based in Mumbai. She is the proud owner of three social media accounts, two shades of lipstick, and one point five legs. Hobbies include bashing popular opinion, leaving feminist comments on Facebook posts, and petting strangers' dogs.

Anu Menon

Anuradha Menon is an Indian television actress and theater artist best known for her alter ego Lola Kutty, the popular Channel [V] VJ. She is also VJ Laila on Channel [V]. Originally from Kerala, she grew up in Chennai and later moved to Mumbai to where she got her break into Indian theater. She has performed in many notable plays including Zen Katha, Sammy! and Only Women. Lola Kutty also appeared in the 2009 movie Quick Gun Murugun as the Locket Girl, and in the 2014 film Happy New Year as a television reporter.

Dalip Tahil

Dalip Tahil is a renowned Indian film, television and theatre actor. He has appeared in more than 100 Bollywood movies by starting his acting career in 1974 with a very successful movie, Ankur. In 1980 Ramesh Sippy offered him the role of a villain in his epic production Shaan. This was followed by a cameo in Sir Richard Attenborough's Gandhi in 1982. On television, he has played roles in Sanjay Khan's television serial The Sword of Tipu Sultan and Ramesh Sippy's Buniyaad. Thereafter he worked in his first British television series: Bombay Blue. He gained national recognition across the UK when he won the role of Dan Ferreira in the iconic BBC1 soap opera EastEnders in 2003, appearing in over 60 episodes. He is currently working in Siya ke Ram, a mythological epic TV series on Star Plus playing the role of King Dasaratha.

Dolly Thakore

A recognized name in the theater and film industry, Dolly Thakore has been one of India’s leading newscasters and television hosts. She has been actively involved in social work through organizations like Citizens for PEACE, Laadli etc. She has performed in many successful plays like ‘Vagina Monologues’ and ‘Death of a Salesman’. She started her career in radio and television with BBC London and her foray into films was as a casting director and unit publicist for Richard Attenborough’s Gandhi. She has also appeared on the silver screen in the movie “Page 3” and on television in the show “Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka”.

Gautam Bhimani

Gautam Bhimani made his commentary debut at the Adelaide Oval in 2003-04 alongside Sunil Gavaskar, Geoffrey Boycott, Greg Chappell, Harsha Bhogle and Ravi Shastri. He has played multiple roles like copywriter, radio jockey, radio commentator, DJ and is the author of the engaging travel book 'Reverse Sweep'. He has even walked the ramp at fashion events across the country. His commentary has spread across sport to tennis and football, having been a part of EURO 2008, the FIFA world cup 2010 and Wimbledon 2015. He was awarded the Ramnath Goenka award for excellence in journalism by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam in July 2007.

Jithin Nedumala

Having spent 24 years of his life in Kerala, Jithin saw the various stages of life for a child and what shaped it and was able to identify the inequalities faced in the everyday life of a child. His organization MAD, which he co-founded, today touches the lives of more than 5000 children with around 3300 volunteers nationwide. It is driven by two core principles, ‘enabling institutions’ and ‘empowering the child’. He is one of the few social entrepreneurs who is personally supported by Mrs. Michelle Obama through her International Youth Engagement Program. Even before he turned 24, he was awarded the Ashoka Global Youth Social Entrepreneur Award, Karmaveer Puraskar, Cordes Fellowship, Dasra Fellowship and YouthActionNet Fellowship for his contribution to the society.

Joseph Radhik

Joseph Radhik is arguably India's most celebrated wedding photographer, known for his breathtaking imagery and mastery of the craft. He is an alumnus of IIM Indore who quit his job in 2010 with a consulting firm to pursue his passion in what he believes is the toughest genre of photography. Twice nominated for the 10 Most Influential People in Photography by Asian Photography Journal, multiple gold winner at The Great Indian Wedding Awards 2014 and top of the wish list for prospective brides and grooms everywhere. His work has been featured in Vogue UK, Grazia India, Elle India, Conde Nast Traveler, and on the cover of Asian Photography. He also leads Stories - a team of photographers and film makers trained by him to create moving stories of love.

Manish Advani

Manish Advani is the head of Marketing & Public Relations for Mahindra SSG with a focus on cause and Green Marketing which goes in line with his interests in the area of Sustainability. He has won several notable awards during his journey, like the Microsoft Presidents award and the Mega Corporate Film Festival Award. He has also been listed in the Top 100 Most Influential Marketing Leaders in 2016 by the World Marketing Congress. Mr. Advani began his career by working on a web site of Times of India after which he has worked on Data and Marketing campaigns of organizations like Kraft Foods, Jaguar Land Rover, Microsoft Canada, Ciba Vision. In addition, Mr. Advani has worked on Risk Management Assessments of Arvind Limited, Birla Sun life, Kemper Insurance and Mahindra & Mahindra.

Manish Mundra

Manish Mundra is an Indian film producer, philanthropist, and businessman. He is the founder and head of Drishyam Films, and Managing Director of Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited, a group company of Indorama, a multi-billion dollar petrochemical firm headquartered in Nigeria. He has produced several films, such as Ankhon Dekhi, Masaan, Umrika and Dhanak, most of which have received widespread critical acclaim and have won laurels in several prestigious national and international film festivals as well. Two others - Waiting by Anu Menon and X, a collaboration of 11 directors - are under production. Manish is also known for establishing the Drishyam–Sundance Institute Screenwriters Lab for aspiring Indian screenwriters.

Milee Ashwarya

Milee Ashwarya is the Editor in Chief for Commercial and Business books at Penguin Random House India. In her decade long career in publishing, she has been responsible for establishing and spearheading the local publishing list first at Random House India and now at Penguin Random House India the latest being The Unsuitable Boy by Karan Johar. Her focus has been on discovering the best Indian voices and promoting debut writers while publishing a range of best sellers across segments. Her authors include Piyush Pandey, Hussain S. Zaidi, Shobhaa De, Karan Johar, Ravi Subramaniam, Twinkle Khanna, Navi Radjou, Shilpa Shetty, Suhel Seth, Emraan Hashmi, L K Advani, Sonali Bendre, Radhakrishnan Pillai and Payal Gidwani Tiwari to name a few.

Pamposh Bhat

Pamposh Bhat is a New Delhi-based environmentalist, a climate change expert and award winning writer. Bhat has been awarded the prestigious Rajbhasha Award for Poetry in 1995 for her work "Kshitij Ki Khoj Mein". Active in public life, she serves as the chairperson of the board of trustees for Jwala, a civil society group that seeks to promote renewable energy, energy efficiency and women`s empowerment in India. She also held the position of country manager of the BMU CMD/JI Initiative in India and worked as a climate policy advisor for the Indian states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and West Bengal. She was nominated as a member of the International advisory board of Abengoa, a fortune 500 company in the energy and environment sectors. At present, Pamposh Bhat is India coordinator, for Supporting India-EU climate change policy dialogue funded by the Delegation of European Union to India.

Rajeshwari Sachdev

Rajeshwari Sachdev is an Indian actress from Mumbai who started her career on stage doing plays with Indian People's Theatre Association. She is best known for her role in Shyam Benegal's film Sardari Begum (1996), for which she won the 1997 National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. She co-hosted the Zee TV musical show, Titan Antakshari from 1994 to 2001. In 2005, she along with her husband Varun Badola took part in Nach Baliye, a dance reality TV series.

Ranjana Kumari

A renowned social activist and a prolific academician, Dr. Ranjana Kumari is the Director of Centre for Social Research as well as Chairperson of Women Power Connect. She has dedicated her life to empowering women across the South Asia region and is also a prolific writer of many well‐known publications. Her foray into social work was initiated by her concern for a dowry death that took place near her home in 1976. She has served as the Coordinator of the South Asia Network Against Trafficking (SANAT) in Persons and is a member of the Central Advisory Board on “Pre Conception and Pre Natal Diagnostic Tests Act, 2001”. Currently, she is a member of Global Safety Advisory Board of Facebook.
