Anjali Sahay

Dr. Sahay is an educator, leader, researcher, and a performer who works at Gannon University as a Professor of Political Science and International Studies. As a performer, Dr. Sahay was introduced to ‘Kathak’ an Indian classical dance form originating in Northern India in New Delhi, India under the tutelage of her Guru Shovana Narayan. Continuing her dance journey into the United States, she has performed in various cities in India and also in the United States. She explores traditional dance with a modern mind to explore the past to create a new, imaginative future and often work with other dancers and dance styles. She believes that her dance is both local and global at the same time and blends tradition with the contemporary. Through her dance, she seeks to challenge established norms and develop the courage to dance her own dance, while at the same time being informed about the heritage, cultures, influences and language of other dance styles and forms, viewpoints and ideas.

Jui-En Hung or Anthony as he is usually known as, is an international student from Taiwan studying at Penn State Behrend. Growing up in the United States as a very Americanized young man, he returned to Taiwan for high school and later served in the Taiwanese Army. After his army service, Anthony worked as a marketing manager for a Taiwan based company and traveled overseas for his work. Eventually he decided to return to the United States to pursue a college education. At Penn State Behrend, Anthony has served two terms as the President of the International Student Organization and has orchestrated various programs to promote diversity, help international students and domestic students to overcome stereotypes in order to achieve a deeper respect for different cultures. Joseph Keogh

Joseph Keogh is a nineteen year old freshmen at Penn State Behrend. He is from Stafford Virginia where he lives with his family of five. Joseph graduated in 2016 from Mountain View High School. For his Ted Talk, Joseph will be telling the story of how he witnessed a shotgun suicide of one his classmates. This experience was obviously very traumatic and life altering. His story however will not be focused on the pain or hardships this moment had on his life, but rather the good that has come out of it. Joseph hopes to share his moment in time with the world in order to raise awareness about the reality of mentally based hindrances, as well as help the world look at themselves deeply and evaluate what they hold dear.

Ricardo Palomares

Ricardo is a speaker, coach, explorer, and filmmaker. He immigrated to the United States from Mexico City after graduating from photography school with the singular focus of building a career that would allow me to explore the world. Later he earned a Film degree at the University of Texas at Austin, then he went on to create documentary work in Mexico and China, and make the famous pilgrimage Camino de Santiago in Spain. Ricardo's talk: We are more similar than what we think. My most recent project, Pedal South, entailed leading a team on a two-year expedition cycling from Alaska to Argentina making a documentary. Our goal was to share stories of the people across the Americas. One of the main things that I learned in the trip is that even tough we have some beautiful differences between each other across the continents, we are more similar than what we think.
Seun Babalola

Seun Babalola is a current college junior at Penn State University. Seun has been a large voice in the areas of social justice, civil rights, and equality at his school in numerous capacities. This past year as a sophomore, Seun served on the Student Government Association as a Senator and as the Director of the Diversity Committee which is the largest committee under the Student Government Association. To name just a few accomplishments, Seun and his committee teamed up with some of the largest student organizations on campus to hold forums that helped students engage in healthy discussions on various issues such as the presidential election, differences in the treatment of genders, and being Latino in America just to name a few. Earlier in the year, Seun along with three of his classmates Isaiah Rashaad Chatman, Demetrius Green, and Marquis McBride, co-founded the Men of Excellence program which is a project for young black men to excel and succeed in society through various programs, workshops, and just conversations with one another. Seun hopes to turn this program into a worldwide non-profit in the near future as the success and empowerment of young black men in our society is very important to him. Very recently, Seun led a water drive for Flint, Michigan in response to their water crisis where he, along with several student leaders collected approximately 4000 bottles of water and hundreds of dollars in donations that he brought down to Flint with the help of his advisors. Seun hopes to continue to be a voice for change in social justice, civil rights, and equality through work in his community and beyond as he has hopes to attain a combined J.D. and Ph.D. in African-American Studies to be a professor and practice civil rights law.
