In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Corinne Jones
Corrine Jones, MS, CCC-SLP, is a PhD candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with the Neuroscience Training Program and Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders. She is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist with a specific focus in evaluation of swallowing disorders, and her research examines early, sub-clinical changes in voice and swallowing function in patients with Parkinson disease.Ed Maxwell
We have strategies to address the biases we know about, but what about the biases that lurk in our unconscious? Ed Maxwell explores how we can overcome our hidden biases with the simplest of techniques: mindfulness practice. He’s been trained by the Center for Mindfulness, which belongs to the University of Massachusetts Medical School. After earning his MBA from the Wisconsin School of Business, he combined his passion for teaching, business, and mindfulness by founding Third Left Wellness, a company that offers onsite mindfulness training to employees. His goal is to apply mindfulness to the most pressing needs our organizations face, including how to build more inclusive workplaces.Ethan Young
Ethan Young is the Founder and President of Insight Wisconsin, the premier organization for “Student Inventors” on the UW-Madison campus. Members work in interdisciplinary project teams on structured design projects proposed by researchers, corporate partners, and members themselves. Sara L. McKinnon is an Associate Professor of Rhetoric, Politics & Culture in the Department of Communication Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research and teaching focuses intercultural rhetoric, globalization studies, and gender studies.
