Bryan Shaw

Freelance Video Producer

Bryan is a freelance video producer and graphics designer, and works with many people around the world, such as large YouTubers. Currently studying the International Baccalaureate in England, Bryan has experienced the schooling systems of several countries and has views on how these different schooling systems either stifle or encourage one's own endeavours.

Edward Miller

Interactive Imagery Specialist

Edward Miller is an interactive imagery specialist with 6 years experience producing 360 degree & immersive video content. Edward has produced interactive content for the likes of BBC, UEFA, ESNP, Vogue, NHS, and Royal Ballet. In 2014, he captured the first news documentary for the Oculus Rift, captured during the Hong Kong pro-democracy protests. Later in 2015, he created the first 360 degree video of a live surgical operation, in association with the Royal London Hospital.

Emma Slade

Emma was born in Kent and was educated at universities in Cambridge and London. She had an exciting international career in finance which she committed to with mental drive and a tasteful selection of suits. But a deep seated desire to enquire into the deeper aspects of what it is to be a human being was brought to the surface following a life-changing visit to Jakarta, Indonesia. She resigned from her financial career and began travelling and exploring yoga and meditation. Since then she has taught yoga and meditation for over 15 years and continued to deepen a life - long interest in Buddhism.

George Magnus

George Magnus is an economist, commentator, and Associate at Oxford University's China Centre. He used to be the Chief Economist at UBS Investment Bank, and later Senior Economic Adviser. George Magnus is well–known in the media, and writes and speaks regularly on topical economic themes. He is the author of Uprising: will emerging markets shape or shake the world economy? and The Age of Aging: how demographics are changing the global economy, both published by Wiley. He lives in London, is married and has four children.

Jillian Haslam

Motivational Speaker

Jillian Haslam is a renowned Motivational Speaker. Her book, ‘Indian. English.’ moved many people across the world to think of those, who by a quirk of fate are consigned to a sub-human life on the margins of society. The book won Jillian many admirers across the continents and much media attention. Her story was turned into a screenplay that won the “Best screenplay award” at the Monaco Film Festival and has since been picked up by Hollywood and is scheduled to be turned into a feature film (www.indianenglishthebook.com).

Joe Middleton

Human Rights Activist

Joe won the 2015 Bar Pro Bono Award for his human rights work around the world. He is recognised for his contribution to the abolition of the mandatory death penalty in several African countries and his work on human rights in Belize Central Prison. Joe’s areas of work include immigration, extradition, death penalty litigation and other complex constitutional and human rights challenges. He is a fluent Russian speaker and has acted in many different courts and tribunals, including the UN Human Rights Committee, the Privy Council, the UK Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights.

Katina Gikas

Having a Greek father, a Dutch mother and growing up in Portugal made me a perfect candidate for the International Baccalaureate at Sevenoaks School. The direction I wanted to pursue had not fully crystallised, but a masters in Biochemistry at the University of Leiden was a good start. Little did I know that the Dutch economy would be suffering and the jobs for biochemists were next to nothing so back to school to do a MBA it was. The MBA opened many doors at numerous multinationals. After working in the FMCG business for more than 15 years it was time to really the change the direction of her career. Katina has now created a social enterprise with a focus on sustainable technology - Water Tech.

Nyakor Riam

Empowerment and Equality activist

Nyakor Gabrial Gai Riam is an aspiring model and actress who starred in a powerful online content campaign called ‘Go Free’ written and directed by Paul Surety. Her passion for empowerment and equality has now lead her to become an ambassador for the brand Kitoko makeup. Nyakor was a war child born in South Sudan. Her family fled across South Sudan and in 1985 settled in Khartoum. Her family then came to England as refugees and since the age of 4 has made London her home. She is the eldest of 6 children and studied Nursing at University. She went on to co- found a company called Tamam Global in 2010 which aims to help entrepreneurial South Sudanese living in the diaspora. Her advocacy work for girls’ education led her to speak alongside Gordon Brown at the 2015 Rising Global Peace conference in Coventry. She continues to share her story and advocacy work in various schools across the country and hopes to one day be able to see her country of South Sudan at peace.
