At TEDxWabashCollege, innovative thinkers from both our college and the greater community will discuss their approaches to some of humanity’s fundamental concerns. As a college that grants students the skills necessary to succeed both in their careers and lives, TEDxWabashCollege seeks to enrich that experience outside the classroom with inspiring talks and performances showcasing talent within the world and beyond.

Ann Bastianelli

Professor of Marketing
Ann Bastianelli joined the marketing faculty at Indiana University Kelley School of Business following a career that included senior executive roles at Leo Burnett, DowBrands, IKON Office Solutions and Hillenbrand. Among the many facets of her business legacy are award-winning advertising campaigns for McDonald's Happy Meals, Eggo Waffles, and The Scrubbing Bubbles from Dow Bathroom Cleaner. An author/editor of four books, Ann is CEO of Anthology Consulting, specializing in marketing strategy and executive coaching. A member of Leading Authorities Speaker's Bureau, Ann has delivered keynote speeches for some of the world's most admired companies.​

Beth Lange

English Teacher
Beth Lange graduated with a degree in English Education from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. She began teaching ninth graders at Fremont Junior High. After three years, she earned her Masters of Education from Harvard University, which qualified her to be a principal. She ended up returning to the classroom with one goal: to be recognized as one of the three most influential teachers each of her students would ever encounter. Since then, Beth has taught all levels of high school English for 26-years in both rural and suburban high schools. Her passion for education has been exceeded only by raising her two sons. She still enters her classroom each day with a prayer to be inspired so that she can inspire—and for the stamina and patience to make a difference.​

Charlie Kane

Writer
Charlie Kane is a writing and practicing curator who concentrates on creating content that educates and provides context toward today’s trends, aligned with streetwear and contemporary fashion. Currently, she curates virtual exhibits with plans to host an on-site experience exhibit in Chicago, spring 2017. You can read her work as a contributing author on “The Hundreds Blog,” or view her recently launched major exhibit, “The White Tee: a Survey of a Basic and its Influence in Hip Hop.”

Gordon Strain

Artist + Professor + Chair of Theatre Department
Gordon Strain is Associate Professor and Chair of Theater at Franklin College in Franklin, IN. Gordon received his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Ithaca College as well as his Masters of Fine Arts in Scenic Design at Indiana University.  In addition to his artistic and academic work at Franklin, Gordon creates designs for theaters and produces art in all sizes, shapes, and forms. He has been awarded the Creative Arts Renewal Fellowship from the Indianapolis Arts Council and has worked as a set designer for Spaeth Design in New York City.  He currently is working on his own art project titled, "The Diminutive Man" which consists of paintings, sculptures, and photographs.

Jason Bridges

Entrepreneur and CEO
Jason Bridges is a 1998 alumnus of Wabash College and previously gave a Chapel Talk titled, "Please, Please Lower Your GPA." He is currently the CEO of both Nantucket Bike Tours, and Handlebar Cafe located on the Nantucket Island, MA, and offers Bike Tour internships to Wabash students focused on improving Emotional Intelligence skills. Jason also is the Public Outreach Manager responsible for improving community engagement and digital resources for the Town of Nantucket.

Konye Obaji Ori

Professor + Director of Eisenhouer Institute of Diplomacy
Konye Ori is a professor of Conflict and Communication at Independence Community College in Independence, KS, and Director of the Eisenhower Institute for Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution. Konye is a contributor and commentator on peace and conflict and has appeared in various media outlets including the BBC, the Huffington Post, the Africa Report, and Wikistrat

Louis Profeta

Emergeny Room Physician
Dr. Louis Profeta is a writer and Emergency Room Physician at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He is the author of the critically acclaimed book “The Patient in Room Nine Says He's God.” His essays on topics ranging from youth sports to end of life care have been read by millions. In 2015, he was named LinkedIn's top voice in health care writing. His recent essay “I Know You Love Me Now Let Me Die,” has become one of LinkedIn's the most read article of all time.​

Stephen Hadley

Lieutenant Police Officer
Stephen Hadley is currently one of three lieutenants in charge of the patrol division of the Peoria Police Department in Peoria, AZ. Stephen began his career in law enforcement in 1990 with the Glendale, AZ police department where he rose to the rank of sergeant working in many assignments including recruit training officer, and field training officer. He served as Sergeant of both the patrol and the bicycle squad that specialized in community outreach.
