TEDxLimassol 2016
New World Order(s)

The world stabilizes into a constant state of unpredictable change.
We come to terms with fragmented new world orders, new realities, new perceptions of contemporary life.

Small groups are mushrooming across the globe disposed to revolutionary change, ready to reveal their antipathy to the status quo. Military powers shift. Governments disempower. Pitchforks sharpen.

Digital companies set the agenda, traditional media outlets deteriorate at the expense of social media, and an increased number of bloggers are more influential than politicians and journalists.

As we learn to live more self-fulfilling lives, artificial intelligent life becomes a threat and an opportunity. As the world becomes more moderate and liberal it also becomes more conservative and extremist.

These are the new world orders. This is TEDxLimassol 2016.

The NEW WORLD ORDER(S) theme meets three of the most essential TEDTalk objectives.
§ To democratize knowledge and science
§ To stimulate and arouse audiences around the world
§ To spark deep discussion and connections

Christo Menelaou

Facebook: christo.menelaou I am Menelaous Christo Menelaou born on 25 April 1979 in Pretoria, South Africa. I left from school at the age of 15 due to my dyslexia and I started my own garden service business. During April 1995 I decided to move out of the house and disclose my sexual preference to my parents. (My moving from my parents’ house was a personal decision and was not due to my sexual preference). My business evolved and grew from strength to strength to the point where I now have 120 employees and we do development and construction of houses, shopping centres, office blocks etc. I was in a 11-year relationship with a man that didn’t work out and in 2007 I met my husband Theo Menelaou. We married in May 2013 where he took my surname. Early on we decided to have children and tried to adopt which proved to be tedious and fruitless. We then opted for surrogacy in 2014 and are now the proud parents of triplets Joshua, Kate and Zoe.
