TEDxFreiburg is the first edition of a locally and independently organized event under a TED license in the green city Freiburg. TED and TEDx events are devoted to ideas worth spreading from everydiscipline. In this spirit our event will feature live speakers from a wide range of different fields and screenings of TED Talks.
Organized by highly motivated volunteers TEDxFreiburg doesn’t pursue any commercial goal. It is all about sharing ideas, provoking new thoughts, widening horizons. We want to create a platform in our hometown for thinkers, visionaries and all people who want to make a difference.

Ana Selina Haberbosch

Dancer

Growing up in the wonderful town Freiburg in Germany, Ani discovers her passion for dance at a very young age. With a strong foundation in Locking, Popping, House and Hip Hop, she starts teaching at the age of 16, competes on an international level and starts travelling to learn and get inspired from different cultures and dances. During 4 years in Spain, Berlin and Paris, she discovers a love for crossing artistic boundaries, experimenting with different music genres and dance styles.

Cécile Verny

Singer

Cécile Verny belongs to the most renowned stars of the jazz scene in Germany and abroad. Cécile has performed in various constellations from duet to big band and even with philharmonic orchestras. She has won numerous national and international awards and was on stage with some of the most famous contemporary jazz musicians like Nicholas Payton, Marc Johnson and Adam Nussbaum. Her own band, the Cécile Verny Quartet, exists since 27 years and toured all over the world. For TEDxFreiburg Cécile will sing in German for the first time in public and will be accompanied by Johannes Maikranz on guitar.

Dr. Ulrike Lehmann

Art Historian

Dr. Ulrike Lehmann is an art historian with many years of experience as a curator in museums. As an art coach she accompanies people on the road to art. She is a trained PR consultant and entrepreneur. Arts and talking about them is her passion. “Arts can communication” is her belief and motto, connecting art and economy is her goal.

Ernesto Moreno

Leadership Coach

Ernesto is a Business Consultant and Entrepreneur. He has built several businesses in the retail, professional services and food and beverage (F&B) industries whilst also building a successful career as a Management Consultant in the corporates. Ernesto is also the founder of Expanding Leadership, a Consulting and People Development company that works with Small and Medium (SME) sized businesses and entrepreneurs to help them launch, grow and scale their businesses as well as develop their people.

Fabio Debus

Entrepreneur

Fabio Debus is a 17-year-old entrepreneur. While being a scholar at the Walter-Eucken High School in Freiburg he started his own company with the idea to bring together refugees and locals. For his project called REFascent, Fabio was awarded by the “Startup Teens” contest in the category "Social Commitment".

Matthias Huber

Adventure Photographer

Matthias Huber is an award winning Landscape and Adventure Photographer who loves to travel and shapes his own life. His works were published in magazines like National Geographic and GEO and he cooperated with brands like Microsoft, Nokia and Tamron. Right now he focuses on OUT:SNAP, his Outdoor Photographer Startup.

Rolf Disch

Architect

Rolf Disch is a pioneer in solar architecture. With the Heliotrop® he designed the world’s first home with a positive energy balance. He initiated many projects to push renewable energy and efficient buildings in his hometown Freiburg and the world. The Solarsiedlung and the Sonnenschiff, featured in the documentary Home, are the flagships of the ecological neighborhood of Vauban. For the realization of his visionary ideas, he received many prizes including the Global Energy Award.
