An M.Tech & Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, he did his post doctoral research at University of Pittsburgh on being awarded the first INDO-US Steel Research Grant. Later he worked in a visiting Scientist’s position at University of Minnesota, USA. Besides long tenures in teaching at Jadavpur University, Kolkata and industrial research at SAIL, he is a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9000 registered in U.K and has been trained in TQM in Japan by JUSE and in TPM by JIPM. Various prestigious awards have come in his long professional journey (including ESSAR Gold Medal/Tata Gold Medal/Institution Of Engineers’ Award as a Distinguished Metallurgist), Japanese Award for TPM Contribution in India, Jewel of India Award by Indian Solidarity Council, Dignity Foundation Award, etc. and he. He is an Indian Robotics researcher based in New Delhi. With curiosity in this field since childhood and Mr.Vaish's Journey in this field started when he programmed India's first dancing Robot when at just 18 years old. Since then there was no looking back. After that he has been into many mischevious projects like Making the India's first fully Autonomous Football playing Humanoid Soccer team. Jassi Oberai is a Canon Photo Mentor. He is self taught photographer. Though he saw his father pursuing his hobby of photography very seriously and very closely witnessed the dark room secrets, his love for the craft started very late but when it did there was no looking back. As a photographer he does not restrict himself to any particular genre of photography. He likes to shoot mostly anything. He likes the challenge of shooting landscape one day to close up the next and dabbling with portraiture the day after. He loves nature and great use of colors. So in most of his photographs you will see wide use of vibrant colors. In his own words, “Colors can give a whole new look to something rather mundane or something we are used to.
