In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adam Karr

Adam Karr graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2005 earning a degree in History and commissioning as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers. He earned a Master of Arts in English from the University of Virginia in 2014 where he focused primarily on translation studies. A veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, he is currently serving as an instructor of English and Cultural Studies at West Point.

Murphy Danahy

Murphy Danahy is a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. As a Cadet at the United States Military Academy, he was a Psychology major and was particularly interested in how US Army leadership development models have changed over time. He often applied psychological theories to normative analyses on the Army’s leadership evaluation methods.

OJ Hall

Oscar (OJ) Hall is currently a senior at the United States Military Academy, majoring in Defense and Strategic Studies. He is from Eagle River, Alaska and comes from a military family. Other than playing football for most of his life, he enjoys hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He will be an Armor officer and will be serving with the 1st Infantry Division upon his graduation.

Robert McClure

COL (R) Bob McClure, President and CEO of the West Point Association of Graduates, graduated from the United States Military Academy with the Class of 1976, holds an MPA degree from Harvard and has studied as an Olmsted Scholar in Germany. Over an Army career that spanned 28 years, COL McClure commanded deployed forces at every level in the Corps of Engineers, from Company through Brigade. In January, 2007 he was named President and CEO of the West Point Association of Graduates, United States Military Academy. Representing over 49,000 living graduates of West Point, Bob is responsible for the direction of a 75 person staff that annually raises over $30M for the Long Gray Line and West Point’s Margin of Excellence, the philanthropic element that contributes so much to today’s cadets and tomorrow’s future leaders.

Robert Moser

Robert Moser is an English major at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He has been interested in cancer since high school, writing a thesis on the subject as well. His other academic interests include social justice and gender equality, specifically the ways in which different indicators help shape the college landscape.

Sam Kolling

Sam Kolling grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2016 earning a degree in Philosophy and commissioning as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Infantry.

Shawn Fitzgerald

Shawn Fitzgerald graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2003, earning a degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and earning a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Military Intelligence branch. He earned a Master of Science in Nuclear Science and Engineering and a Master of Science in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2013. A veteran of two combat deployments to Iraq, he is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Physics and Nuclear Engineering at West Point.

Zach Cohen

Zach Cohen grew up in Englewood, Colorado and is a Civil Engineering student interested in enhancing a community's sense of place through sustainable infrastructure development. Throughout his time as a cadet at West Point, he has been a member of Civil Engineering Club and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. While he is an Engineer officer in the United States Army, he wishes to pursue graduate-level education in sustainable infrastructure development.
