Theme: Where Ideas Cross

In 2008 TEDxWarwick became one of the first beta partners for an initiative TED was about to launch in March 2009. The team was able to accentuate those TED characteristics that everyone loves, and equally importantly find those characteristics that didn't quite translate to a smaller establishment setting. This resulted in the first TEDxWarwick conference. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience, where x=independently organized TED event.

We at TEDxWarwick have continually strived to deliver a platform that allows a diverse array of speakers, from physicists to management consultants, to present breakthrough ideas in less than 18 minutes. We offer an entirely new way of exchanging ideas where the engaging atmosphere allows any topic to be discussed with experts and non-experts alike. This makes TEDxWarwick not only a fascinating and exciting conference, but also a worthwhile one.

TEDx events are all about ‘Ideas Worth Spreading’ and we hope that you will take this opportunity to exchange ideas with the speakers and the rest of the audience during the breaks. At TEDxWarwick, conventional rules about who can talk to who do not apply, so introduce yourself to as many people as you can; who knows, it might be the connection you were looking for to make your idea become reality.

Planning an event like this required drive and determination in order to bring TEDx to Warwick for you to experience. We hope TEDxWarwick 2011 will capture your imagination in the same way as TED does ours: that by harnessing the power of ideas we can be the change that we wish to see in the world.
