Shayla Tonge
"Dream in a Drawer"
Shayla Tonge discovered first hand that radical dreams are possible. At age 13, greatly inspired by a book about a family who traveled the globe, Shayla rallied her family of 4 to step outside their normal life and spend half a year venturing around the world. After 2 years of researching, planning, setting a Guinness World Record, and packing the house, they left on their adventure, volunteering in Orphanages in India, Africa, and Central America. Seeing her radical dream come to reality has spurred Shayla to encourage others to do the same. Her eyes now open to suffering around the world, she believes wholeheartedly that the most fulfilling of dreams are ones that both tap into our passion and bring hope to others. She is a Mountain View High School student.
