In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Airplane Poetry Movement

Shantanu Anand and Nandini Varma are the cofounders of Airplane Poetry Movement, a project to build a working infrastructure for spoken word poets and their educators. Their vision is to create an ecosystem where poets have opportunities to build careers and spoken word education is accessible to everyone.

Aakash Mehta

Aakash Mehta is a singer-songwriter, scriptwriter, producer and stand-up comedian. And he does all this without being a star kid. It helps that he has issues and that he likes dealing with them on stage. A true student of the art, Aakash now relishes every mishap, misfortune and misadventure so that he can talk about it on stage.

Anil Malhotra

Anil Malhotra is a practising Advocate in India since September 1983. He attained Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the Panjab University, Chandigarh, India and an LLM degree from the University of London, London in November 1985 where, he studied Comparative Family Law at LSE and Law and Society at SOAS. For over 30 years, he continues to act as a expert to render reports in foreign courts and conduct matters in Indian Courts pertaining to interpretation and application of foreign Court Orders regarding divorce decrees, child abduction, custody, maintenance, adoption and family related issues of Non-resident Indians (NRIs).

Indian Jam Project

The Indian Jam project is a collaborative platform where Indian Classical and Western Musicians come together and perform Indian adaptations of western theme music of famous TV series/movies.

Meghana Telang

Meghana is a student of Sociology and Anthropology at St. Xavier's college, Mumbai. She enjoys acting and directing for theatre, and has been a part of a number of professional productions. She is a regular attendee of protests and plays in the city. Her hobbies include reading and attempting to smash the patriarchy.

Nayantara Jain

Nayantara Jain is ReefWatch's Executive Director. She lived on the islands of Lakshadweep and Andamans as a SCUBA Diving Instructor for a few years, inspired by the beauty of the ocean, but increasingly disturbed by its degradation by factors global and local. Eventually she left the islands to learn more about marine biodiversity and conservation at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego and has returned informed, optimistic and passionate about protecting India's marine spaces.

Nazia Vasi

Nazia is an India China interpreter and entrepreneur. Nazia kung fu-ed her way through China, working, studying Mandarin and travelling across India's largest trading partner. As Founder and CEO, Inchin Closer, an India - China language and cultural consultancy, Nazia is passionate about enhancing people to people interactions.

Riva Pocha

Riva Pocha is a graduate in Forensic Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York, with over 15 years of training experience in the field. She has advised local law enforcement agencies and provided training consultancy to educational institutions. She is passionate about forensics and with her dedication strives to push forensic training and consultancy in India to international levels of quality.

Sharmila Kher

Currently leading the communication at SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education & Health Action), she is jointly responsible for the advocacy agenda across all themes of SNEHA. She previously worked with ICICI Bank Ltd, where she ran an HR initiative called 'Saturday Kids Club' that worked with employees kids, training them in non-academic skills such as drama, poetry and creative writing, which successfully ran for 4 years from 2001 to 2005.

Shilpa Phadke

Shilpa Phadke is a researcher, writer and pedagogue. She trained as a sociologist. She is an Assistant Professor at the School of Media and Cultural Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She has been educated at St. Xavier’s College, SNDT University, TISS in Mumbai and the University of Cambridge, UK. She is co-author of Why Loiter? Women and Risk on Mumbai Streets.

Sudhir Raniwala

Dr. Sudhir Raniwala teaches at the University of Rajasthan. He pursues his experimental research programs at European Organisation for Nuclear Research, CERN, which is the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. CERN is also known for creating the world-wide-web, and for the discovery of Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider. He has been a visiting scientist of the Indian National Science Academy to the Department of Atomic Energy of the Govt. of India, an associate of CERN, and a senior associate of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Italy.

Viral Oza

Viral Oza is currently the Marketing Director at Times of India. A marketing professional with over two decades of experience, he has previously worked with Microsoft & Nokia India. Viral led the marketing for Axe deodorants across Asia after successfully leading the launch & establishment of Axe deodorants in India.
