In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Eunice Baguma-Ball

Entrepreneur & Technology Business Consultant
Eunice Baguma Ball is a UK-based Ugandan entrepreneur who spent several years working in tech in Africa, including co-founding two startups. As the founder/organiser of the Africa Technology Business Network, she advises tech startups that are looking to expand into Africa or developing solutions targeting the African market. The ATBN gathers a community of entrepreneurs, innovators and technologists who are interested, in not only in tapping into the opportunities in Africa, but also creating social and economic impact. Through organised events in London, the ATBN initiative provides insights into the Africa technology industry and connects UK-based entrepreneurs & investors to opportunities in the sector. Moreover, they support the budding local tech communities across Africa by providing a plug into the UK tech ecosystem and a platform to showcase African centred innovations to a global audience.

Olasimbo Sojinrin

Country Manager for Solar Sister, Nigeria
Olasimbo is a feminist, a citizen lobbyist, and an advocate for climate change progress and women’s rights in Africa. She has been working in the realm of climate change and renewable energy for over 10 years. She joined the British Council in 2004 as a Project Manager where she managed several partnerships that strove to educate secondary school students on the issue of climate change. From there she became the Capacity Development Manager to the UNDP’s Access to Renewable Energy Project in 2011 providing a strong voice in the drive to create climate change legislation. Currently she is the Nigeria Country Manager for Solar Sister, a civil society organisation with a mission to eradicate energy poverty through women's economic empowerment. Olasimbo leads a network of women entrepreneurs who are bringing affordable clean energy solutions to their communities’ doorstep.

Richard 'Rich Blk' Mkoloma

Spoken Word Artist
Spoken Word artist Rich Blk’s conceptual approach to Hip Hop lyricism covers personal and social subject matters, ideas of ‘tomorrow’ and merges the worlds of Hip Hop, Afro-Electronica and Poetry. “The mood is edgy, atmospheric and punctuate a style that's densely rhythmic, unique, full of word-tricks and morphs seamlessly from spoken word to rap & back again.” (Gemma Weekes). Rich’s poetry has been published in ‘Contemporary Black Writing’ anthologies by Peepal Press and Penguin. He has featured on music projects by progressive artists such as T.Roy/Broadcite, DJ Psykhomantus, Son of Dan and CDR and featured on SKY, OHTV, Channel 4, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Bang FM and also performed in numerous venues in London including Sadler’s Wells, Jazz Café, The ICA and the Africa Centre and graced the stage in New York, Amsterdam and Sydney.
