In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

She was born with spina bifida, a disability that affects certain parts of the neurological system. She was brought up in a family that always reinforced the idea that disability should not become a barrier to whatever you want to do. Just this year, Fleur started competing in her very first international competitions in para-dressage. Up until now, she has only done four competitions but is aiming for a spot to represent Hong Kong in the Paralympics in Rio in 2016. Her end goal with this aim in the future, is to gain a certain platform from her riding, and focus it on her passions - mainly working with and supporting anti-human trafficking victims. Fleur is planning to do something in the future which could blend law and psychology together, as well as her aforementioned passion.Karen Torres
