In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anders T. Mészáros

Anders Tobias Mészáros grew up in the German speaking part of Switzerland, having a Swedish mother and Hungarian father and thereby speaking 4 languages fluently. He graduated from a private roman catholic monastery business middle school in 2011. In November 2014 he was elected as President for AIESEC in Namibia, his role includes attending Global Leadership Conferences to National Presidents and being invited to moderate conferences in Poland and Hungary. Currently Tobias is running operations for AIESEC in Namibia leading an international team of 3 people and overlooking 3 local chapters in Namibia with 70+ members, representing AIESEC in Namibia on a National and International Level. He believes in empowering confidence in each individual to become a better version of themselves to have a greater impact on their society.

David Hammond

David Hammond was born and raised in Orange County California. At the age of 16 he moved to Canada to pursue a career in ice hockey, which lead him to become a National team player for Canada’s Inline Hockey Team in 2006. He served as a team coach while playing hockey for team Canada and this has enhanced his coaching skills. In 2012 and 2015 he won the world championships. Through teaching and playing hockey Dave has been fortunate enough to travel the globe. He has lived on 5 out of 7 continents already at the age of 30 David is currently living in Swakopmund, Namibia and he is serving as a Sport Coordinator for the Swakopmund Indoor Sport Centre and Manager at the Dome Health and Wellness Center. One of David’s major future objectives is to contribute to Namibian Sport development and through this, put Namibia on the map worldwide. As well as share his knowledge through training and mentoring the youth.

Hlengani Mathebula

Hlengani Mathebula is the Chairman of the Black Business Executive Circle, Eskom Pension & Provident Fund and a non-executive director of BMW Group in South Africa. A former CEO of First National Bank Personal Banking, a Managing Executive of ABSA Private Bank, Hlengani now serves as the Strategy Advisor to the Governor of the South African Reserve Bank. He enjoys taking on new challenges and seizing opportunities. He is inspired by excellence and people who are passionate and believes in building strong resilient teams and creating a learning environment that is conducive for personal growth. This he does by identifying individuals with talent and harnessing them to realise their full potential, and through empowering teams to apply themselves and learn through pushing the boundaries of thinking and application. He is an avid mountaineer and has summited Mount Kilimanjaro four (4) times.

Immanuel Hango

Immanuel Hango is a 31 year old Professional Engineer (Civil), and is currently employed by the Namibian Ports Authority (NamPort). He is member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Immanuel is a social entrepreneur, and he recently invented a chlorine production process using solar energy (as a mean to fight cholera). His innovation idea was selected as a semi-finalist in the Technology Idea (Tech-I) 2015 competition, a competition offered as part of the Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) an initiative by the U.S. Department of State. He is currently pursuing a MBA in entrepreneurship with Steinbeis University in Berlin and is in his final academic year. Immanuel can write, read and speak fluent Mandarin (Chinese).

Jenniefer Alma Mieze

Jennifer is the MD of Kairos Consultancy. A Trainer/ Facilitator/ Motivational Speaker & Life Coach- A former Bank of Namibia employee, Training & Organizational Development Specialist. She possesses strong communication & interpersonal skills, and understanding of global leadership. A major part of her work in corporate centers on the following areas Training and Development, Strategic Planning, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Career and Succession planning, Performance Management. She enjoys inspiring and motivating and guiding people on how to navigate life. She is inspired -to motivate and inspire people to improve their morale, teamwork, and communication skills and ultimately achieve more results. With her background as a Social Worker, and a pastor in a local church - Jennifer honed her skills to motivate people to understand and stimulate human potential utilizing powerful delivery and emerging insights to teach, inspire and channel people to new levels of achievements.

Johny M. Smith

Johny M. Smith is currently the CEO of the Walvis Bay Corridor Group. The Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) constitutes a Public Private Partnership (PPP) of transport and logistics stakeholders, who jointly work towards developing the various Corridor routes through the Port of Walvis Bay, and facilitating fast, safe, reliable and efficient transport along these routes. As CEO, he is leading the growth and development of new business along the three main corridor routes in Namibia. These corridor routes are the TransKalahari route which links Namibia with Botswana and Gauteng, The Walvis Bay-Ndola-Lubumbashi route which links Namibia with Zambia, DRC and Zimbabwe as well as the TransCunene Highway, which links Namibia to Southern Angola. He has more than 25 year’s commercial experience in the fields of telecommunications, land and sea transportation.

Leevy Lee Abrahams

Leevy Lee Abrahams is an ardent reader in the field of neuroscience, behavioural and developmental psychology, economics and philosophy. As a Journalist who has worked in print and electronic media spanning an illustrious career, his thought-provoking approach to everyday issues has provided the stimulus for a new approach in problem analysis and demands a new approach towards solution. He is widely travelled and served as an intern in the U.N .Department of Public Information in New York. He is passionate about impacting change in society on global national and local issues and advocates for a fresher and innovative approach towards solving unemployment, safe and efficient mobility of goods and service, social justice and the mainstreaming of roles to be played by persons usually at the periphery of society, the jaded and such persons likely to be misunderstood.

Pam Miller

Pam is mentor, trainer&business woman with extensive experience in organisational development.Her passion lies in promoting practical holism&management skills for a conducive environment for people to flourish and meet their organizational needs.Pam established a training foundation that provides business sponsors opportunity to invest in workplace readiness training - benefiting individual and business community.Pam strives for PhD. She received Chairman Award as former chairperson of the Swakopmund Branch of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce.Having worked in Namibia, South Africa and UK,in industries such as health, hospitality and retail management, Pam has an MBA, registered nurse and midwife, an occupational health nursing practitioner. Pam is an avid reader, loves animals, is a toastmaster and she enjoys socialising, especially in the outdoors. She also translates her varied interests into an engaging weekly radio show
