It gives home to everything from the existence of the Universe to our personal life experiences, from achieving success to making good decisions. It is where both innovation and harmony stem from. It is where complex and emergent systems operate, from financial systems to biological ones, from climate balance to the human brain, from cosmology to politics. And for these systems, we may need to rethink our industrial notion of control. It may very well be more about open ends and unfinished stories. About reconciling opposite truths, conflicting demands and antagonistic interests. But it is also about the paths to take, the questions to ask, the windows of opportunities, the threats we need to survive and the solutions we need to find.

Ádám Magyar

Az egerszalóki GreenZero stúdió 3D-animátora a Pécsi Janus Pannonius Tudományegyetem Rajz és Vizuális Nevelés szakán végzett, az egyetemi évek alatt kezdett 3D computer-animációval foglalkozni. Az AENIMA Computer Grafikai Stúdió vezetőjeként saját forrásból készítette el az első magyar egészestés 3D-animációs filmet, az Egon & Dönci-t, melyet több mint 70 országban vetítettek, lenyűgöző képi világa bármelyik amerikai gigaprodukcióéval felveszi a versenyt. 2009-ben alapította a Greenzero Virtuális Valóság Multimédia Inkubátorház és Klaszterközpontot, Egerszalóki stúdiójában készültek többek közt David Attenborough Repülő szörnyek 3D című IMAX filmjének BAFTA díjas animációi is, újabban pedig a Toy Story íróinak forgatókönyvét filmesítik meg. Sztereoszkópikus 3D tartalomfejlesztéssel, virtuális valóság technológiákkal, és kutatás-fejlesztéssel foglalkozik. 2015-ben fejezte be a Magyar Történelem 3D című rövidfilmet, melynek technikai vezetője és rendezője volt.

Alessandra Orofino

Alessandra Orofino is an urban participation advocate and an enthusiast of people-powered politics; the co-Founder of Meu Rio that develops tools for civic engagement and participation in Rio de Janeiro. A firm believer in reinventing representative democracy, Alessandra and her team have engaged many members in decision-making processes and creating 21st century movements that can help solve major global problems. More recently, Alessandra has become a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts, contributing to their pioneering program in Design for Social Innovation. Alessandra also worked in women’s advocacy and was a field researcher in Brazil and India, interviewing young girls who had been victims of domestic violence. She holds a degree in Economics and Human Rights from Columbia University in New York, but also studied political science in Paris.

Andrea Joós

Biológia és természetismeret tanár a Deák Téri Evangélikus Gimnáziumban és a Lauder Javne iskolában, de médiát, vitakultúrát és angolt is tanít, felkérésre pedig tréningeket tart. A biológiatanítás és a tudománykommunikáció számára eszköz, amellyel a diákjait inspirálja, és boldoggá teszi, ha látja őket előre haladni egyéni útjukon. Tanári eszköztárában a legnagyobb szerepet az élményközpontúság és az "eljátékosítás" (gamification) kapja (ez utóbbi módszert Prievara Tibortól tanulta), meggyőződése, hogy nem csak a szakmai kiválóság tesz valakit igazán jó tanárrá, hanem az, ha ki meri tágítani a normalitás határait, avagy ha kell, tud kissé bolond is lenni. Andreának saját rádióműsora is van a Klubrádióban “Többet Ésszel” címmel, televíziós műsorokat szerkesztett (Borvacsora, Fogadóóra), több kisfilmet “szakértett”, amely a környezettudatosságra hívja fel a figyelmet, és tudománykommunikációs blogot vezet “Élménybiológia” címmel.

Bence Vági

Jeszenszky Endrénél tanult táncolni, majd a világszerte jegyzett, Sir Paul McCartney alapította és patronálta Előadóművészeti Akadémia koreográfus majd rendezői szakán diplomázott Liverpoolban. Nemzetközi és hazai munkái a rendező-koreográfus kőszínházi feladatoktól független zenés produkciók létrehozásáig széles skálán mozognak. Már fiatalon vonzódott a kabaré, a revü és a cirkusz sajátos hangulatú világához, de akkor került kapcsolatba igazán a műfajjal, amikor kutatási témaként foglalkoztatni kezdte a XIX. század végén nagy népszerűségnek örvendő cirkuszi műfaj, a freak show. Előadásaiban gyakran megjelenik ezen említett műfajok hangulata. A Recirquel Társulat alapításának elsődleges célja, hogy megteremtsen egy egyedülálló Kelet-Közép Európai - Magyar Újcirkusz irányzatot. Három saját előadással büszkélkedhet a társulat: a Cirkusz az Éjszakában, A Meztelen Bohóc és a Párizs Éjjel című produkciókat telt házas előadásokon játsszák itthon és külföldön egyaránt.

Daniel Schwartz

Founder and CEO of Dynamica Inc., a foundation and multi-family office (MFO) serving some of the leading philanthropists, co-creator of Arbinet, and the former Executive Director of the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity, Harvard-graduate Daniel has been listed by Black Ink magazine as one of the “25 Most Influential Philanthropists”, selected as one of Crain’s New York Business’ “40 under 40” emerging business leaders and named as one of the “100 Global Leaders for Tomorrow” by the World Economic Forum. Danielle Fong

Self-described as ‘a girl from the future’, the 27-year-old Canadian innovator, entrepreneur and eco-pragmatist has been featured in Forbes' 30 under 30 in the category of Energy & Industry, as well as interviewed by Forbes.com in a video entitled "Danielle Fong May Save the World". She has also been named as one of the “Top 35 Innovators under 35” by the MIT Technology Review. Left junior high school at the age of 12 to attend Dalhousie University, graduated with first class honors in computer science and physics, then entered the Plasma Physics Department at Princeton University as a PhD student. She went on to co-found LightSail Energy, where she currently works as “Chief Science Officer” developing a form of compressed air energy storage. Danielle works actively to mentor and inspire entrepreneurship and invention in hard technology, working as a mentor. Pályaelhagyó deviancia-szociológus, főállású munkatársként a Kék Pont Alapítvány projekt koordinátora. Több mint egy évtizede vesz részt a hazai drogmegelőző, közösség építő és drogproblémát menedzselő projektekben, mint szakértő és morálisvállalkozó. Hét évig koordinálta a budapesti parti kultúra biztonságosabbá tételét célzó Kék Pont Party Service projektet, jelenleg pedig az alapítvány Biopolitikai Műhelyét vezeti, ahol munkatársaival elsősorban holisztikus szemléletű egészség-programokat terveznek és alkotnak meg. Az ELTE Társadalomtudományi Karán végzett, 2002 óta a Tilos Rádió műsorkészítője és kurátora, a 7térítő című műsort vezeti. Több éve évszak-független kerékpáros, Budapest szerelmese és, „az örömelvű tekerés” híveként, a Babilon Nyulai Kerékpáros Egyház alapítója és egyházfője, Kegytárgyas Feri néven pedig bizarr vallási tartalmú tárgyak gazdáit keresi az interneten.

Ernő Duda

Duda Ernő az elmúlt 20 év során 16 céget alapított, mind más iparágban. A tudományok iránti vonzódásának is köszönhetően az üzlettől a biotechnológiáig, számos területen szerzett tapasztalattal a háta mögött több egyetemen is oktat. Számos pozíciót töltött be különböző alapítványoknál és civil szervezeteknél, jelenleg a Magyar Biotechnológiai Szövetség elnöke és a Magyar Szkeptikus Társaság alelnöke. Saját elmondása szerint fontos számára a munka és a szabadidő egyensúlya, és nagyon kedvel akár egy üveg bor mellett olyan témákról beszélgetni, mint például az emberi evolúció jövője vagy a különböző technológiák konvergenciája.

Furugh Switzer

A Hungary-based Persian-Canadian sociologist, trainer and life-skills educator, she has conducted workshops all over Europe and Canada and led seminars for individuals on relationships, parenting, early childhood development and inter-cultural challenges. A firm believer in integration, she is the director of the Unity in Diversity Foundation, supporting minorities and the disadvantaged and, aware that mothers are the first educators and mentors of their children, in 2003 she launched the Meséd (Your Story) Project, working mostly with Roma women to improve their literacy and life skills. She has co-authored a book on marriage called "Mindful Matrimony".

Hannu Rajaniemi

Hannu Rajaniemi is a mathematical physicist, science innovator and writer. Self-described as “the Geometric Dreamer”. In the belief that science and technology are amongst the most important factors driving societal change and that modern physics is full of beautiful ideas that resonate with stories he would like to tell, Rajaniemi is also a renowned author of science fiction and fantasy. His trilogy, the critically-acclaimed and award-winning debut novel, The Quantum Thief (2010), its sequel The Fractal Prince, and the recently completed The Causal Angel have won worldwide acclaim.

István Csutka

Csutka István táncművész, majd színművész, koreográfus, rendező, később televíziós főszerkesztő és műsorvezető. 2008-tól, több nemzetközi cég felsővezetője, tanácsadója. 2013-ban létrehozta saját brandjét a Világaim.com-ot, könyve - Camino Steve, egy álom nyomában - 2015 májusában jelent meg. Pályafutását Nívó-díjjal, háromszor Év embere díjjal, 2005-ben, Magyar Köztársasági Arany Érdemkereszt kitüntetéssel, illetve a gyermekvédelmi gondoskodásban élő gyermekek több éves önzetlen segítéséért díszoklevéllel ismerték el. Hiszi, hogy álmaink tudatosan megvalósíthatóak, de legalább olyan fontos számára, hogy sikereinkből mindig adjunk vissza másoknak. János Pilling

Pszichiáter, a Semmelweis Egyetem Magatartástudományi Intézetében működő orvosi kommunikáció csoport vezetője. Közel húsz éve oktat orvosi kommunikációt orvostanhallgatóknak, rezidenseknek és szakorvosoknak. Szerkesztője a három nyelven (magyarul, angolul és németül) megjelent „Orvosi kommunikáció” című tankönyvnek. Korábban a klinikai halálból visszatért emberek élményeinek kutatásával foglalkozott, a haldokló betegeket gondozó Magyar Hospice Alapítvány orvosa és a gyászolókat segítő Napfogyatkozás Egyesület elnöke volt. Gyakorló klinikusként a Magatartástudományi Intézet Pszichoszomatikus Szakambulanciájának munkatársa.

A történelem legjobb női sakkozója 9 éves korában nyerte első nemzetközi versenyét, a fiú korosztályos világbajnokság után a nemzetközi nagymester címet a férfi versenyeken játszva 15 évesen szerezte meg, ezzel mindenidők legfiatalabb férfi nemzetközi nagymestere lett. Guinness rekorder: a női világranglistát több mint 25 éven át megszakítás nélkül vezette. Kétszeres olimpiai bajnok csapatban, nyolcszoros sakk Oscar-díjas, többek között az évszázad sakkozó nője, a Magyar Tehetség Nagykövete, a Halhatatlan Magyar Sportolók Egyesületének tagja. A 2014-es Sakk Olimpiai ezüstérem megnyerését követően a Prima Primissima díjas Judit visszavonult a versenysakkozástól, hogy figyelmét a sportág nemzetközi népszerűsítésére, alapítványa gondozására, az oktatási programja fejlesztésére, és családjára összpontosíthassa. Sakkpalota oktatási programja már önálló tantárgyként válaszható az általános iskolák alsó tagozatán.

László Kiss

A Magyar Tudományos Akadémia legfiatalabb tagja - ez persze nem érdem, hanem csak állapot. Szakterülete a csillagok és körülöttük keringő bolygók asztrofizikája, utóbbi években pedig egyre inkább a tudománykommunikáció gyakorlati alkalmazásai. A média által kedvelt tudós, aki szabad idejében egy tudományos hírportál, a www.csillagaszat.hu főszerkesztője. Klasszikus zenei tanulmányai során 12 évesen kezdett trombitálni. A Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetem Jazz tanszékén szerzett diplomát, majd a New York-i nagyhírű SAE Intézet elektromos zenei kurzusán tanult. Számos jazz és pop formációban játszott, például a Soulwhat, az Irie Maffia, a Random Szerda, illetve a The Uptown Felaz együttesekben, az utóbbival filmzenét is szerzett a Kész Cirkusz című filmhez, mellyel a filmszemlén zenei díjat nyert. Nic Marks

World-renowned for his work in happiness and application of statistical methods to measure wellbeing, Nic is perhaps best known for his trailblazing work on the Happy Planet Index, a global index of human well-being and environmental impact. A ‘statistician with soul’, he believes that a happy life does not have to cost the earth, and that happiness and contentment are not the result of the accumulation of material wealth or unfettered economic growth, but it rather comes from connecting with others, engaging with the world and gaining a sense of autonomy.

Noah Raford

Advisor on futures, foresight and innovation, crowd-sourcing expert and co-founder of several start-ups, he is senior advisor to the government of the UAE, fulfilling a number of innovation and strategy roles, co-founder & CEO of Futurescaper.com, a crowd-sourced scenario planning start-up based in London and Dubai, and co-author of the book "Warlords, Inc.: Black Markets, Broken States and the Rise of the Warlord Entrepreneur". He is a semi-retired techno DJ who maintains an occasional podcast called NerdHouse and blogs on 21st Century approaches to strategy, policy and design.

Peggy Dulany

Peggy Dulany is Chair of Synergos, a global non-profit organization helping solve complex problems of poverty and inequality by promoting and supporting social collaboration. She founded Synergos in 1986 to facilitate relationships among grassroots groups and government or business leaders and organizations, people who otherwise would not have access to each other. In 2001, Peggy co-founded Synergos' Global Philanthropists Circle with her father, David Rockefeller, to support philanthropic families in using this approach. Her career has included heading a public high school program for drop-outs, consulting with the United Nations and the Ford Foundation on health care and family planning, and with the National Endowment for the Arts on non-profit management and planning. She runs two socially responsible, and through Synergos guides wilderness retreats that offer participants a safe space in which to reflect on their deepest purpose in life.

Roland Augustine

New York-based gallerist and art dealer Roland co-founded Luhring Augustine Gallery with Lawrence R. Luhring in 1985. Having devoted himself to social engagement, Roland is a trustee of Bard College, with a particular engagement in both the Centre for Curatorial Studies (CCS) and the Bard Prison Initiative (BPI), its mission being to bring liberal arts education into the prison system in the state of New York. He also served on the board of Dignitas International, a humanitarian organization that serves the people of Malawi through the care and prevention of HIV/Aids, and was President of the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA), seeking to educate collectors and democratize the art market via overseeing and writing the first Code of Ethics that circumscribes the responsibilities of all professional dealers.

Sammy Rangel

Sammy is the founder of Formers Anonymous, a self-help group for criminals and addicts who are looking for support on how to change and recover from their addictive behavior. His story is extraordinary – being a victim of childhood physical, mental and sexual abuse, he lived most of his juvenile life as a homeless throwaway child, who very quickly encountered drugs, crime, sex, and violence in the street. He has enhanced his credibility by overcoming addiction and recovering from a life of gangs, violence and maximum-security prison to become a college-graduate, a street-savvy counselor, a mentor and now a father of four. Having graduated with Presidential honours and Summa Cum Laude, Sammy holds a Master of Social Work Degree and has earned several awards. His autobiographical book, FOURBEARS: The Myths of Forgiveness is not simply a graphically illustrated memoir, but also a ‘manual’, as it goes in depth concerning the steps it takes to forgive, change and recover.

Tibor Benedek

Háromszoros olimpiai bajnok, Európa és világbajnok, tizenkétszeres olasz és magyar bajnok egykori vízilabdázó. Négyszer ítélték neki „Az év magyar vízilabdázója” címet, többször lett „A világ legjobb vízilabda játékosa”, de számtalan egyéb elismerés és díj birokosa, megkapta a Magyar Köztársasági Érdemrend több fokozatát is. 2013-tól a magyar férfi vízilabda-válogatott szövetségi kapitánya, irányítása alatt a válogatott világbajnok és Európa-bajnoki ezüstérmes lett, amiért tavaly elnyerte a „Magyarország Legjobb Szövetségi Kapitánya” címet. A saját bevallása szerint munkamániás sportember ötéves korában gerincproblémái miatt kezdett sportolni, később leigazolta az UTE, ahol fiatalkori éveinek legnagyobb klubsikereit érte el.

Valencia James

Barbados-born performing artist, dancer and choreographer is based in Budapest as a resident artist of L1 Dance Association. Trained in modern and Afro-Cuban dance in Cuba, she pursued Dance and Social Anthropology studies at Roehampton University in London and graduated from the Hungarian Academy of Dance in Modern Dance. She participated in numerous workshops and festivals, including O Vertigo Dance & Ultima Vez Dance Companies, presented her own choreographies on several international stages like the 13th International Solo Dance Theatre Festival in Stuttgart and worked with renowned choreographers such as Wim Vandekeybus and Yvette Bozsik.

Zsolna Ugron

One of the best-selling Hungarian authors, Zsolna was born in Cluj-Napoca, a city in Transylvania. Her first novel, ‘A Transylvanian Love Story’ is a real journey through ballrooms, complicated family relations and an amazing romance, from teeming Budapest to the foot of the Carpathians in Transylvania, where she was born into an aristocratic family. Hetesi Zsolt az ELTE fizika-csillagász szakán végzett, majd elméleti fizika tárgykörében asztrofizikából doktorált. 2003 óta az ELTE TTK óraadó tanára. Szakterülete az egyes elméleti fizikai kérdések vizsgálata. 2006 óta foglalkozik energetikai, rendszerelméleti és fenntarthatósági kérdések kutatásával. Közreműködött az Új Széchenyi Terv, a Nemzeti Energiastratégia és számos városi energiastratégia írásában, valamint egyes gazdasági rendszerek fenntarthatóvá alakításában. Munkatársa és alapítója a Fenntartható Fejlődés és Erőforrások Kutatóműhelynek, tudományos, ismeretterjesztő és energia- valamint környezetvédelmi szakpolitikai tevékenységet folytat. Kutatásai nyomán felhívja a figyelmet a bolygó véges erőforrásaira és nyersanyagaira, és azokra a jövőbeli forgatókönyvekre, amelyek szerint az olajkitermelési csúcs után energiaválság következik be az egész világon, ami globális válságot, majd a modern civilizáció bukását okozhatja. „Egy élhetőbb világért” címmel blogot ír.
