TEDxYouth@Groningen

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Jethro Rahajaan

Jethro Rahajaan was born in 1984 and started dancing at the age of 13. One year later he was named most promising b-boy of the Netherlands. He is a professional dancer with his crew, teaches and gives workshops about lucid dreaming.

Kris van der Veen

Kris van der Veen is a young politician and documentary maker. Is socially involved in several organizations: at the Support Centre for Domestic Violence, for women and Social Care and COC. His goal is equality and justice in the world.

Mandy Koopman

Mandy Koopman, student Biology at the University of Groningen and born in 1991. Is passionate about music, sports, creativity and a smile. Currently studies a treatment for Alzheimer.

Merlijn Poolman

Merlijn Poolman is born in 1987 and is a young cultural entrepreneur in Groningen. His goal is to inspire people to do what they love doing.

Ramon Roelofs

Ramon Roelofs, better known as DJ Charly Lownoise, together with Mental Theo one of the best known DJ artist of the nineties. Born in The Hague in 1968. Started meditating in 2009 and is since than also Zen Meditation teacher.

Ran Hendriks

Ran Hendriks. Drone addict and born in 1985. Is an ERT trainer, speaker of drones and also a DJ. He gets a kick out of other people who get into action.

Sjoerd Hamburger

Sjoerd Hamburger was born in 1983 at Oldeberkoop. Studied Social Sciences in Utrecht, became a rower. Was at the Olympics twice, 2008 in Peking and 2012 in London.
