Recently, TEDx conferences have taken the nation by storm through their inspiring messages and speakers. But what is TEDx exactly? Standing for Technology, Entertainment, and Design, TEDx has been made with the vision to introduce to listeners “ideas worth spreading” and to evoke deep conversations and connections within our society.
Whitney High School is excited to present its very own TEDxWhitneyHigh, which will be held on May 22nd from 6-8:30 p.m. in Whitney High School’s new MAC auditorium. The theme for the conference is "THIS is ME," a theme that will allow speakers to freely share events, activities, people, and experiences that have significantly impacted their lives. They will describe how that impact connects to their community and how it has shaped them into the people they are today. By hearing how these inspiring speakers have overcome some of their lives’ obstacles, TEDxWhitneyHigh hopes to spread a message to let other people with similar challenges realize that they too, can conquer their problems and turn them into opportunities. Speakers will relate their personal stories to concepts such as leadership, the road to success, and true happiness. TEDxWhitneyHigh will bring personal, relatable issues to light and address possible solutions for issues in society, thus allowing the citizens’ voices to permeate our society for the better.
We extend an invitation to all communities within Southern California to come and enjoy the discussions held by our distinguished speakers and students on May 22nd. Light refreshments will be provided.
