You are cordially invited to the next TEDxTheHague salon! Our April edition — themed Designing Well-being — is curated by TEDxTheHague regular Dorcas de Koning and generously hosted by Gallerie Lily's. Dorcas writes:
"First-world countries are suffering from a new definition of 'poverty' in the health care domain. The way we choose to tackle this problem will affect our well-being. In this TEDx session we will explore what this poverty is, and how design thinking can contribute to a solution. Health care can and should be an inspiring hospitality experience."
We'll explore this theme by watching and discussing the following videos:
The Hospital Window
A patient entertains his blind roommate with stories about a couple in the park.
Catarina Mota: Play with smart materials
Catarina Mota plays with "smart materials" — like shape-memory alloys and piezoelectric structures that react to voltage — and encourages others to do so too.
Cameron Sinclair: A call for open-source architecture
Cameron Sinclair demonstrates how passionate designers and architects can respond to world housing crises. He unveils his TED Prize wish for a network to improve global living standards through collaborative design.
