"How come every other organ in your body can get sick and you get sympathy, except the brain?" - Ruby Wax.
Our salon this February targeted a passive presence that might sometimes fully attack but usually just rests there... staring, entertained by your fear and anguish, but it isn't there, nothing is there. It is an imperceptible pain, a series of unseen murky riddles that mar the skies when the sun shines bright. The average person, if willing to listen would tell you to "just smile, get through it, and 'man' up".
At TEDxLAU, we recommend that you should "listen up". On Monday, February 17, a little event took at LAU Beirut for you, for us, and for all those who believe that there is more to our health than this vessel we call a body.
We got to know a lot more about this question so many keep repeating: "What is wrong with me?" And if you have never experienced this yourself, find out about other people in your life who might be living with that unruly presence, day in and day out.
*Our event poster: The inspiration for our poster has gone viral, and we wanted to use this opportunity to symbolically promote our message. Anyone around us might be suffering from mental distress... take your time to look deeper and see the complexities within.
