"Girl Like Me"

Alia Sharrief is a Muslim female hip hop artist, whose unique style and sound defies stereotypes and breaks barriers. She uses her music as a vehicle to empower people and bring a fresh, new sound to hip hop. Sharrief comes from a long line of civil rights activists who have given her a voice for social injustice, female empowerment, human rights, unity and equality for all. She performed at the Women’s March in D.C. in 2017 and is the founder of The Hijabi Chronicles, a platform that highlights Muslim women in arts and entertainment. Sharrief has performed with Kendrick Lamar, Madonna, Alicia Keys and Janelle Monáe, among others.
